From a vision to elevate ESG consulting standards to becoming the trusted benchmark in Greater China
Foundation
SCB was established to address the growing need for independent evaluation of ESG consulting services in Greater China. Received initial support from the UN Global Compact Network China.
First Annual Report & UN Partnership
Published our inaugural ranking report, evaluating 15 leading sustainability consulting firms. Established formal partnership with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) to align our methodology with international best practices.
Methodology Enhancement & WEF Collaboration
Expanded evaluation framework to include 12 capability dimensions aligned with global standards. Collaborated with the World Economic Forum on integrating Stakeholder Capitalism Metrics into our assessment criteria.
Industry Recognition & GRI Alliance
SCB rankings became the most cited benchmark for ESG consulting excellence in the region. Joined the GRI Community as a strategic partner and contributed to the development of sector-specific disclosure standards.
Global Expansion & ISSB Alignment
Partnered with the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) and Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) to align our methodology with emerging global standards. Expanded coverage to include ASEAN markets.
New Era & UN PRI Collaboration

Dr. Sarah Chen
Founder & Chief Analyst
Former ESG Director at a Big Four firm with 15+ years of experience. Previously served as a consultant for the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and contributed to the World Economic Forum's ESG metrics framework development. Holds a PhD in Sustainable Finance from London School of Economics.
Michael Zhang
Head of Research
PhD in Environmental Economics from Cambridge. Former research fellow at the World Economic Forum's Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution, specializing in sustainable development indicators. Previously worked as a senior economist at the Asian Development Bank and advised the Chinese Ministry of Ecology and Environment on green finance policies.
Lisa Wang
Senior Methodology Advisor
Former sustainability consultant at McKinsey & Company with expertise in GRI, SASB, and ISSB standards. Served as a technical advisor for the UN Global Compact and contributed to WEF's Stakeholder Capitalism Metrics initiative. MBA from INSEAD and certified GRI trainer with 12+ years of experience across Asia-Pacific markets.
David Liu
Data Analytics Lead
Data scientist with a focus on quantitative ESG assessment and machine learning applications. Previously worked with the UN Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI) on data analytics frameworks and led ESG data projects at Bloomberg. Holds a Master's in Computer Science from Stanford and published research on AI-driven sustainability metrics.
